"Bo cordão branco treina com o Mestre para o Batizado." | 72" × 40"

$5,760.00

Mixed media on canvas

This painting portrays a Mestre’ master teacher, wearing an African mask paying homage to the root of Capoeira’s origination in Angola, guiding two young students in the art as they strive for their next chord. A floating berimbau releases a cascade of flowers, symbolizing the flow of sound and rhythm, while the use of green reflects the students’ beginnings—their inexperience, growth, and journey toward understanding. The work is a personal homage to my first Capoeira chord ceremony, marking the start of my path within the spiritual martial art.
